There are many things to purchase in the shop, such as Gold and Gems. If you are desperately running low on both, you could buy any type of Gold or Gem pack for real currency (real money) which you can buy through the 'in app purchases' or 'play store' using a credit card, debit card, or Google Play Card/iTunes Card.
Over time, there will are also 'Starter Packs' which will usually consist of either Fusion Boosts (Ring/Amulet or Armor), Gold and sometimes Silver Coins (for Shadowforged Ascension levels and upgrading the Pet Hunting Grounds). You can also frequently get Ring and Amulet Sets for previous season Shadowforged armors.
Within the shop, there aren't just things that you can buy with in-game money (or real money), there are also buildings that produce gold for you, Armorsmiths and much more.
Lastly, there are Accessories which are capes you can actually equip on your knights. Upon buying a cape, you will have unlimited access to using it on any knight. They will apply on any event, (guild war, raid bosses, arena, etc.) and you do not have to keep swapping it for each event. Capes do not have any effect on gameplay, they are purely cosmetic.

The local shop tab was added in March 2018. It is currently empty, and there is no information on what will be coming to it.

- The Amount of Gems you can get from "Get Free Gems!" will vary widely with platform (iOS, Android) and geographical location, but for videos they are capped to at most 30 gems per day, after which you get 100 gold instead. The counter is reset at a specific time of day. When getting the 100 gold, the popup will list the number of hours and minutes until the next reset.
- Sometime there are sales on Gems (most weekends, 30% and during the last event of the month - either Raid or Guild War - 40% for the entire weekend), making them cheaper to buy.
