Pets are creatures that act as allies in battle. They are caught by being fought in the Hunting Grounds, and may be enhanced and evolved (a process similar to armor fusion) to become more powerful in combat.

Pets are allies that are found in a region called the Hunting Grounds.

Pets are pure elemental creatures, so they can not take damage. Only one pet may join your party for any given fight. Your pet will attack with you each turn. Every pet has 3 stats: Attack, Elemental Attack, and Elemental Defense. The elemental attack and defense stats are a bonus which passes to any knight in your party that is wearing that element; the attack stat determines how powerful the pet's own attacks are.

Pet Leveling[]

Pets are leveled up by enhancing them with other pets, using the same principle as with enhancing armor.

Pet Tiers[]

Pets also come in Tiers. The Tier of a pet is shown above it in a hexagonal shape and is in Roman Numerals. To obtain higher tier pets, one must combine them. For example, combining two Tier 1 pets will result in a Tier 2 pet. This is valid for one-star rarities only (Common, Uncommon and Rare). Two-stars rarity pets needs three pets to get to higher tiers. In the same way, Three-stars rarity pets needs four pets to get to the next tier.

The element combination does not matter, although your pet may end up sick if combining different element types together. You can only combine pets of identical tier and rarity together.

Upgrading a pet's tier will give it a new graphic and name, similar to enhancing your armor. It will have a better special ability and the base attack, elemental attack and elemental defense will increase greatly. Base stats for pets with a rarity above rare appear to be completely random.

Hunting Grounds pets[]

Bait[]

To find pets you need bait. Bait current comes in 4 forms, Blended Seed, Mixed Berry, Assorted Bean and Multicoloured Pepper. These can be found as a drop item during battling or purchased for gems at 1, 10, 25 and 49 gems respectively.

  • Blended Seed- Uncommon. Used to attract Common and Uncommon pets. It attracts 2 pets at a time, and has a small chance of attracting a Rare pet. Costs 1 Gem.
  • Mixed Berry- Rare. Used to attract Common to Rare pets. It attracts 3 pets, at least one will be Rare. There is a small chance that a Super Rare pet will appear. Costs 10 Gems.
  • Assorted Bean- Super Rare. Used to attract common to Super Rare pets. A rare pet is guaranteed and there is a small chance for an Ultra Rare pet to appear. Costs 25 Gems. *Assorted beans are farm-able at Haunted Citadel using a pet with the Loot Sense ability.

  • Multicolored Pepper- Ultra Rare. Used to attract common to Ultra rare pets. A super rare pet is guaranteed and there is a small chance at an Ultra rare pet to appear. Originally it was 99 gems, but the price was dropped to 49 gems.

Pets and bait follow the same rating system as the rest of the game, however baits only go up to Ultra Rare rarity.

In March 2017 4 tiers of element-specific bait were introduced into the game, starting with the elements fire and spirit. These only hunt pets of that one element. Each one hunts 3+1 pets, with the element-specific bait's rarity only indicating the maximum rarity of the 4th pet hunted.

It is unknown if the chance for Fusion pets only applies to the 4th pet of the tier 4 element-specific bait or to all 4 of them. Element-specific bait tiers 3 and 4 are the only way to get to an epic pet through hunting.

In a November 2017 client update, a "x20" option was added to the Hunting Grounds which consumes 20 of the bait and auto-runs 20 hunts. It runs them at normal "auto" speed (if you have the "Start Combat in Auto-Mode" setting turned on), so each batch of 20 will still take a few minutes, but no clicks are needed inbetween the runs.

Special Abilities[]

Pets also have a special ability that can be activated when fully charged. To use a pet's special ability, tap the ability button located next to the special attack button on the corner of the device.

  • If a pet has 3 abilities, you have to choose one of the first two and the other one gets de-activated, after which it functions like a 2-ability pet, using the activated and 3rd abilities. The selected ability can be changed any time by tapping the pet's abilities at the "Choose Your Party" screen.
  • If a pet has more than one ability, then a charge of 1 square Pet ability charge1 triggers the first ability, while a charge of 2 squares Pet ability charge2 triggers the second ability and takes about twice the time to charge.
  • This has as side effect that with the "Auto use Pet Special Ability" option enabled, the pet will only be using the first ability.

At the pets chest of beginning of September 2016, only the 1st number of "max" was correct, while the 2nd and 3rd were a nonsense "20% of the 1st number" values.

In a november 2017 update, Super Rare IV pets were introduced that seem to have made it impossible to evolve from Super Rare to Ultra rare without a "Rarity Up" proc. At the same time it seems evolving a Ultra rare pet or a low tier Legendary now has a small chance to get one of the special Legendary pets instead of the basic one. It is unclear right now if the possible Legendary I results of evolving a Ultra rare include the Legendary I fusion boost pets or only the special Legendary pets that have 4 tiers (fusion boost pets unfortunately have levels instead of being 1/1 like fusion boost armors and jewelry, so are hard to identify before accidentally evolving them away...)

Conclusion from these stats: last tier of a rarity has better stats than the first tier of a next rarity.

(5 star) Epic pets[]

At the end of October 2016 Epic (5 star) pets were introduced. These are the first pets to have 5 tiers. They can be acquired through events or element-specific bait.
